Job description

This new role is a vital one for the Bikeability Trust as we develop and implement our Income Generation Strategy. Having secured over £78 million of Active Travel England (ATE) grant funding to 2029 for the provision of Bikeability training we are looking to add value to our operations by raising income to develop innovative new products and services that complement but are outside the scope of the ATE funding.

This role will lead that work as part of our wider Strategy team. You will have significant experience of charity fundraising and income generation, and of taking a strategic approach to income diversification and resilience. The Bikeability Trust recruitment policy

General

  • The Bikeability Trust is committed to applying our equality, diversity, and inclusion policy at all stages of recruitment and selection. We always carry out shortlisting, interviewing and selection without regard to an applicant’s sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership status, skin colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origins, religion or belief, age, pregnancy or maternity leave or trade union membership.
  • The Bikeability Trust actively promotes equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and we welcome applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records.
  • The Bikeability Trust select all candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications and experience.
  • An application for a criminal record check is only submitted to DBS after a thorough risk assessment has indicated that one is both proportionate and relevant to the position concerned. For those positions where a criminal record check is identified as necessary, all application forms, job adverts and recruitment briefs will contain a statement that an application for a DBS certificate will be submitted in the event of the individual being offered the position.

Application

  • All roles include an information pack about the job to help you to decide whether or not to apply. This pack will normally contain an application form and equal opportunities monitoring form and policy statement, a job description, person specification and further particulars. In some cases additional information will be provided.
  • Your application will be dealt with efficiently and confidentially.
  • Applications will not be accepted after the closing date unless there are exceptional circumstances. They will not be considered after the shortlisting stage in any event.
  • All disabled applicants who meet the essential job-related shortlisting criteria will be guaranteed an interview.

Shortlisting

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within three weeks of the closing date and will receive clear details about the date, time and location of the interview. If the selection process consists of anything more than an interview such as a test or presentation, we will notify you when we first write to you.
  • You will only be assessed against the job-related shortlisting criteria obtained from the person specification.
  • We will not provide feedback to candidates who are not shortlisted for interview.

Interviews

  • As a remote working organisation our interviews are largely held online through Microsoft Teams. If we require a face-to-face interview, we will pay travel expenses for your interview based on standard rail fare or its equivalent within the UK only.
  •  All interviewees will normally be informed of the outcome within two working days of the final interview unless there are exceptional circumstances, in which case you will be notified within five working days.
  • You will be kept informed of any delays that may occur together with the reason(s).
  • We aim to provide all candidates who attend interviews with feedback, however we will explain if this is not possible.
