Let’s make every penny count

As we move through summer, it’s fantastic to see so many of you continuing to deliver high-quality cycle training across the country. We set  more realistic delivery targets  with you for 2025, but there is still grant funding available. If your organisation has capacity to deliver more, now is the time to let us know. Every extra place delivered helps us demonstrate the strength and value of Bikeability, and ensures no funding is left unused.

Likewise, if you’re not able to spend your full allocation, please be transparent and release it back so we can reallocate to areas of growing demand. Let’s keep working together to make sure every child who wants to learn, can. We need time to reallocate unused funding, and last year a high number of LHA’s left it to the last quarter to release funding and this was then lost for cycle training as it could not be reallocated. Our grants team work with you every quarter to forecast spend, please engage with them.

Your insight matters

As we plan for Bikeability funding from 2026 onwards, your voice has never been more important. We’re still in business planning discussions with the Department for Transport, and we are pushing for confirmed funding decisions as early as possible.

To support this, we need clear, honest and wide-ranging insight from across the industry. What’s working when it comes to scaling up? What’s holding you back? Please take a few minutes to complete our industry surveys, the data we gather will directly influence future policy and funding.

Decisions are made by those who turn up, and in this case, by those who complete the survey. Make sure your experience is heard and counted.

Conference countdown is on!

We’re getting closer to the 2025 Bikeability Conference, and we can’t wait to see so many of you in one place. Early bird tickets may have gone, but there’s still time to book your place. We’ve got an exciting programme lined up focused on quality, innovation and the future of cycle training. We are also being joined by Active Travel Minister Simon Lightwood MP. Don’t miss out!
