Help us make Cycle to School Week 2025 our biggest yet

We are gearing up for this year’s Cycle to School Week, taking place 13–17 October. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the impact of our work and raise awareness with families, schools and communities. This year, we want it to be the biggest yet, and we need your support to achieve that. Pledges are now open for individuals and schools, and we encourage you to make a pledge too!

Please help us spread the word far and wide and ensure schools in your area are getting involved. You can support by sharing Cycle to School Week on your social media channels, reaching out to schools to let them know how they can get involved, or inviting your local MP or counsellor to see Bikeability in action. Funding and forecasting

We currently have unallocated grant funding available for 2025, and it’s vital that we make the most of it. If your organisation can deliver more training than originally forecast, now is the time to let us know. Equally, if you are unlikely to spend your full allocation, please release that funding back to us as soon as possible.

We are asking all grant recipients to be realistic, proactive and transparent in their forecasts. The sooner we have accurate data, the more impact we can collectively make by redistributing funds to areas of need.

We’re looking for Bikeability Club partners

We are actively seeking new commercial partners to join us as sponsors of the Bikeability Club. This is an exciting opportunity to bring in brands that share our mission and can support our work in expanding cycling access and engagement.

Our new Bikeability Club offers a great opportunity for brand exposure and awareness to directly engage the 500,000 families that come through Bikeability each year. Your brand can be front and centre on a digital badge, a cycle activity or challenge, that is earned and attached to the trainee’s profile.

By sponsoring a badge, you can offer a bespoke and exclusive channel to promote your product and support your commercial objectives.

If you have contacts or ideas, we’d love to hear from you. To find out more, contact Aaron on aaron@bikeabilitytrust.org. Together, we can grow Bikeability Club’s reach and influence.

A renewed focus on quality

At the heart of our work is a commitment to quality and safety. Bikeability is a national programme with national standards, and we must be consistent in how we deliver. We’ve recently received a number of complaints and serious incident reports where delivery strayed from the Cycle Training Delivery Guide (CTDG). While we treat these as opportunities to learn, we cannot compromise on the fundamentals of our programme.

To support this, we’re introducing an Annual Quality Plan to guide our improvement efforts, and ‘Quality’ will be a central focus at this year’s conference. Look out for opportunities to get involved in the development of the Quality plan in the coming months. Our role is to champion best practice, ensure consistency and maintain the trust that families, schools and the Government place in us. We want to thank all of you who uphold these standards every day.

We continue to build momentum behind our programme, through better data, stronger advocacy, more engaged partners and your commitment to excellence. Thank you for being part of the Bikeability team.
