HOY Bikes x Bikeability: Bringing the joy of cycling to CarFest 2026

This summer, Bikeability joined forces with HOY Bikes and Wheels for All at Silverstone’s CarFest, to help more children and families discover the joy of cycling! 

Over three action-packed days, our team welcomed hundreds of festival-goers to the Bikeability arena, with opportunities for children of all ages and abilities to build cycling confidence.  

Bikeability cycle sessions

Across the weekend, we delivered 13 Learn to Ride sessions, giving 42 riders the chance to ride a pedal cycle independently for the very first time.

We also ran 10 Cycle Handling Skills sessions, helping 90 riders develop the control, confidence and cycle skills needed to progress towards Level 2 Bikeability training.

At Bikeability, we believe that cycling is for everyone. Working alongside our partners Wheels for All, inclusive cycling was integrated into our daily sessions across the weekend. We delivered training sessions to 28 riders using a range of adapted cycles, including trikes and handcycles.   

In trademark Bikeability style, all sessions combined games, challenges and instructor-led activities – delivering essential cycling skills while having plenty of fun along the way!

Visitors could also drop into Bikeability Fix sessions, where instructors shared practical maintenance tips and simple cycle care advice to help families keep their cycles safe and roadworthy.  

KidsFest Cycle Dash

A key highlight of the festival was the inaugural Cycle Dash on Saturday afternoon, where children had the opportunity to ride alongside cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy! Approximately 45 participants, including 30 selected Dash raffle winners, were able to experience a thrilling cycle on the Hamilton straight at Silverstone Circuit.

We’re also incredibly grateful for our fantastic team of Bikeability instructors and volunteers who delivered such great sessions across the weekend – even in the pouring rain! Spirits remained high thanks to the incredible work you do.
