Introducing John, another of our Bikeability Trust trustees. One of John’s cycling highlights is recently spending a week as Barbados cycling team coach at the Track Cycling World Championships in Roubaix. John was supporting international rider, Amber Joseph who he has guided over the past 7 years since she first started cycling at age 14. On a day off from the Velodrome at Roubaix, John tried a solo ride on the famous pave of Paris- Roubaix. We’re proud to have John guiding us at Bikeability too!

Meet Gavin. He’s raised more than 50k in charity bike rides totalling close to 1500 miles and has a very famous cycling ancestor. Most importantly of all, Gavin is one of our Bikeability Trust trustees! Pictured below is Gavin on one of his many charity bike rides from Land’s End to John O’Groats. He’s also completed a 9 day, 979mile ride raising £25k for GB Paralympics and a 3 day, 300mile ride raising another £25k for Royal Marsden. Equally as amazing is Gavin’s Great Great Grandfather is Kirkpatrick Macmillan, who is credited with inventing the pedal driven bicycle in 1839. The wooden bicycle apparently had iron-rimmed wooden wheels, a steerable front wheel and a larger wheel connected to the pedals. We’re delighted to have Gavin on our board of trustees…not least for his historic connections! #cycling #cyclinglife #bike #bikelife #bikeride #biketraining #bikeisbest #bikeability #cyclinguk #ilovecycling #learntocycle #rideabike #cyclingwithkids #bikewithkids #cyclistsofinstagram #cyclistlife #parents #parentinglife #parentsofinstagram #teachersofinstagram

With attention now turning to COP26 in Glasgow we thought it might be a good time to highlight just how environmentally friendly cycling is as a means of transport! More cyclists the better! #TogetherForOurPlanet
